Benjamin Kornfeld, MD

Dr. Kornfeld received his B.A. from Washington University in St. Louis and his M.D. from the Johns Hopkins School of Medicine where he received the Harrison Award for excellence in Pediatrics. He completed his residency training at Children’s Memorial Hospital/Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children’s Hospital of Chicago and was named Resident Teacher of the Year multiple times. He served as Chief Resident for an additional year before joining North Suburban Pediatrics. Board certified in Pediatrics, he is a fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics and is a Health Systems Clinician at the Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine.  Dr. Kornfeld volunteers teaching residents at Lurie Children’s and as a staff physician for the Cradle adoption agency in Evanston. He is an attending physician at Ann and Robert H. Lurie Children’s Hospital of Chicago and Evanston Hospital.

Dr. Kornfeld grew up in Deerfield, Illinois and now lives with his wife (also a pediatrician), two daughters, son and dog in Evanston. He enjoys rooting for Chicago sports teams, running, and pretending to know how to cook. He loves guiding families with healthcare decisions for their children and working both within and beyond the pediatric office to improve the health of his patients.
