Rachel Elwell, MD

Dr. Elwell received her B.S. in Biology from University of Illinois in Champaign-Urbana where she graduated Summa cum Laude. She received her M.D. from Northwestern University, The Feinberg School of Medicine, and was inducted into the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society. She completed her post-graduate training at Children’s Memorial Hospital in Chicago, now the Ann and Robert H. Lurie Children’s Hospital of Chicago. Dr. Elwell is a clinical instructor in Pediatrics at Northwestern University Medical School and an attending physician at Ann and Robert H. Lurie Children’s Hospital of Chicago, Evanston Hospital and Northwest Community Hospital. She is a fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics and member of the American Medical Women’s Association. She is also on the medical staff at The Cradle, an adoption agency in Evanston.
Dr. Elwell grew up in Skokie and currently lives in Evanston with her husband and two daughters. In her free time she enjoys reading novels and practicing yoga. She loves her career caring for children of all ages and helping them lead happy, healthy lives from newborns to college age adults. She joined North Suburban Pediatrics in 2006.
