Rachel Elwell, MD

Dr. Elwell received her B.S. in Biology from University of Illinois in Champaign-Urbana where she graduated Summa cum Laude. She received her M.D. from Northwestern University, The Feinberg School of Medicine, and was inducted into the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society.

She completed her post-graduate training at Children’s Memorial Hospital in Chicago, now the Ann and Robert H. Lurie Children’s Hospital of Chicago. Dr. Elwell is a clinical instructor in Pediatrics at Northwestern University Medical School and an attending physician at Ann and Robert H. Lurie Children’s Hospital of Chicago and North Shore University Health System’s Evanston Hospital. She is a fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics.  She is also on the medical staff at The Cradle, an adoption agency in Evanston.

Dr. Elwell grew up in Skokie and currently lives in Evanston with her husband, two daughters and a labradoodle named Watson. In her free time she enjoys reading novels, practicing yoga and learning the ukulele. She loves her career caring for children of all ages and helping them lead happy, healthy lives from newborns to college age adults. She has been with North Suburban Pediatrics since 2006.
